Unless you grew up in Miami you might find it strange to hear that Brazilians drink sugar cane juice. Chilled caldo de cana or suco de cana is delicious on a hot summer day. If you'd like to try it, go to a Cuban café in Miami and ask for a "garapo." Look for it in juice bars in Rio de Janeiro or at certain feiras like this one in São Paulo. And, of course, if you go to sugar cane country in northeastern Brazil, you can buy those pretty slices of sugar cane on sticks to chew on.
